The Trout Motel
The Trout Motel | Primo for the Missouri
There are a myriad of ways to slice a fishing trip – I have stayed in floating cabins, campers on stilts, and lodges fit for a king. The Trout Motel is the perfect venue for a trip to the famed Missouri River. Situated in Cascade, Montana, the Missouri River flows just one block away. With excellent access to the Great Falls airport, a world class fly shop attached to the complex, and nearly 40 miles of trout rich river, it’s impossible to miss on this trip.
- Epic Missouri River access (just a block away)
- Comfort Convenience (high-speed internet, TV, fly tying area)
- Food, Fun, and $1 Beers (Thursdays at the Driftwood!)
Trout Motel Fishing
The Missouri River is the main attraction. As it sits, we have great access to the entire length of the “traditional’ trout fishery on the Missouri River. To the east we also have some lessor known small streams, that might be worth the drive east, if an angler wants to stretch their legs a bit.
Accommodations
The Trout Motel has 8 total guest rooms. Five rooms have two queens. One room has a queen and a twin XL. One has two twin XL beds.
“The Bungalow” across the street, has a private bath, 50” flat screen, a full kitchen with dishwasher, all the cooking gear, a barbecue grill outside, picnic table under a nice shade tree, living room, and two bedrooms with three twin XL beds. A perfect longer term get away for 3 people, or two anglers that want a little more space.
Each guest room has high speed internet, ultra comfortable beds, crisp linens, satellite TV, space to work – or tie flies. A world class owner and staff are always available to trouble shoot any issues or answer any questions that you might have. The Trout Montana Fly Shop also boasts the best coffee in Cascade Country.
Dining at The Trout Motel
Great food can be found to the east or west of The Trout Motel. Breakfast is served daily at the Homestead just one block to the east. Dinner can be found at a number of local bars and restaurants. It is truly something to see dollar beers in America, but they can be found every Thursday at the Driftwood, two blocks to the east. For those looking for an authentic, Montana steak try the Beef and Bone Steakhouse in Ulm just a couple minutes drive west. You can read more about Cascade and getting there here.
